RAPIDO OFFERS FREE RIDES TO VOTERS IN HYDERABAD AND SURROUNDING CITIES

HYDERABAD: Rapido, a prominent commute app in India, announced on Monday its commitment to offer free bike taxi, auto, and cab rides to voters in Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, and Warangal on the polling day, May 13. In collaboration with the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Rapido aims to encourage increased voter participation in the democratic process. An event was organized at the Lal Bahadur Shastri (LB) Stadium to raise voter awareness, attended by Vikas Raj, CEO.

On election day, voters can take advantage of free rides using the code 'VOTENOW' on the Rapido app, enabling them to exercise their democratic right. The initiative seeks to support residents' voting rights and promote a more inclusive electoral process.

This effort is part of Rapido's nationwide campaign, which involves the deployment of over 10 lakh captains across more than 100 cities to provide free rides on election day.

Pavan Guntupalli, Co-founder of Rapido, stated, "We are undertaking this initiative to ensure that every voter in Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, and Warangal can successfully fulfill their civic duty by casting their votes in the Indian General Election 2024."

Rapido is particularly focused on ensuring that differently-abled and senior citizen voters have equal access to exercise their democratic right. By offering free auto and cab rides to these groups, the ride app reinforces its commitment to inclusivity and social responsibility.
